Jeltje de Koning (she/her, 2000) is an illustrator based in Utrecht, NL.

Fascinated by our emotional world, she creates intimate, melancholic scenes highlighting the poetics of common human experiences, i.e. themes such as loss, grief, belonging, community and memory.
She is inspired by the beauty of mundanity and the experiences we share with each other as individuals. Connection with one  another, ourselves and the space we inhabit is the common factor in her illustrative work, which can be described as sensitive, detailed and warm. She enjoys visually experimenting with colour and light and usually works with her trusty coloured pencils.
